Celebrating and Honouring all of life’s moment

We live in a time when people can create ceremonies and ritual that are personal, that includes all the flavour they want – or don’t – and that allows them to share their uniqueness in their way with others.  We can:

  • celebrate your wedding or union

  • mark and honour the passage of time 

  • hold ritual for our land and its seasons

  • celebrate milestone moments that are once in a lifetime

  • honour and celebrate the life of someone now gone

We can do this through ceremonies that are crafted with care for those special times.

 What is a Life Celebrant?

Life Celebrants work in partnership with their clients to create and design unique ceremonies and rituals. Events that are personal and reflective, ceremonies that are rich with feeling, and are as distinctive as the individuals they embody, and represent.  My Life Celebrancy is non-denominational and can include any aspect of religious or spiritual service that individuals desire.  My role as a Life Celebrant is to be a storyteller, helping to weave a ceremony that is one-of-a-kind when honouring and celebrating life’s moments.

CEREMONIES AND RITUALS

Weddings

Once upon a time, the way a wedding ceremony was held or conducted was done to satisfy our religious beliefs, satisfy our families’ wishes, satisfy our cultural traditions, and cement the binding of contracts.
We have come a long way, and today weddings and marriages can be tailored to each couple, giving the to-be-weds the ability to create a unique and personal ceremony that reflects the essence of who they are individually, and together; a ceremony that holds within its words and actions all that they feel, all that they hope for, and all that they give to each other. As a Life Celebrant* I can help you create such a ceremony. By walking with you and co-creating your ceremony, I can help you bring to your day all that is important to you.

I am an ordained Mtaphysical Mnister, licensed by the Province of Ontario to perform marriages.

Handfastings

Handfasting is a Celtic tradition going back hundreds of years though hand fasting is a joining ceremony in many cultures.

Historically in Celtic customs, handfasting (hands bound or draped using ribbons, cloths or other) allowed a couple to be “married” for a year and a day, and took place at annual Gatherings. If, at the next Gathering, the couple chose to dissolve their marriage, their handfast would be undone and they would return to being single once more.

As of the 20th century, handfastings are not considered a legal marriage. Couples must include legal requirements in their ceremony or have a civil marriage conducted separately in order that their marriage be recognized by their civil authorities. Have no worries, however. As we co-create your ceremony, we will ensure that all is attended to, seamlessly.

To celebrate and to honour.  Being a Life Celebrant brings me joy when I help others to create  special moments in their lives.  The joy comes from being part of something that is unique to each individual, regardless of the type of ceremony.  A Celebration of Life for a beloved now passed is just as rich to me as helping you to create a full moon wedding ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

Our lives – all of our lives – are rich with growth, and experience, and personality.  Each moment comes, is lived and gone, never to come around again.  I want to help people design and create ceremonies that mark their milestones and life’s passages.  

Together we will create the ceremony that is wholly yours.

Each ceremony is a creation made manifest by you. Some ceremonies and rituals are simple; others are more intricate. As each celebration is unique, I cannot provide stock estimates.
